My journey as a professional writer began over 25 years ago when I joined Pelco, a leading video security company. There, I honed my skills writing case studies, technology profiles, and marketing collateral that showcased our solutions. Over the years I have grown along with the industry, from analog CCTV to IP systems to cloud, VSaaS, and AI/ML applications. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how to communicate complex topics to various audiences.
In addition to my work in the security sector, I bring a background in professional audio and live event production. As a lifelong musician, I've been involved in everything from equipment sales and installation to performance and show direction. I was using and writing about MIDI systems in the mid 80s and now writing about digital, networked professional audio and video solutions. My hands-on knowledge allows me to bring a unique perspective to projects and technologies within the pro AV space. And yes, I still play in a busy classic rock cover band here in Portland, Oregon.
